Friend, generally the cut off of examination is purely depends upon the nature of question paper, performance of candidates in the exam and number of vacancies available.
This year the question paper was somewhat tougher especially in Mathematics as compared to previous year's question paper.
As far as I think the cut off of general category would remained between 70 -80.
Wish your bright future. Best of Luck. OK

Some experts have already predicted that this year' cut-off mark would be somewhere around 90 marks.

Dear Aspirant
The Cut off marks for SSC CGL tier I depends on some factors like difficulty on question paper, no. of Vacancies and no. of applicants. if paper is easy then cut off will go high and if paper is difficult then cut off go down. so there are some of these factors that decide the Cut off.
The only way to get appointed through SSC is to work hard and practice...

is tier 2 paper tougher than tier 1 paper?
Sir i have applied for compiler/statistical post but not eligible for it. i have qualified 2 give paper 3.what shall i do,shud give it or not?
Hello friend,
Cutoff of CGL Tier 2 depends on many factor
1)- No of candidates appeared in Tier 2
2)- Difficulty Level
3)- No. of Candidates required for attending Interview
4)- No. of Posts
Cutoff for this year Tier 2 is expected to be +5 or -5 of last years cutoff as this year Tier 1 cutoff was 2 marks less than previous year & Tier 1 gets included in Tier 2
Cutoff of Tier 2 for year 2011 has been enclosed in pdf format, for ease of comparisons

i think this year the ssc tier 2 maths paper is little tough than 2011.......i could attempt 52/100 que.......what u think sir??
Is Cutoff after TierII considered with inclusion of TierI score also or the Cutoff for TierII and TierI are seperate.
sir i scored 335 marks altogether?do i have a chance to qualify for interview post?
cgl tier 2 cut off will be 235-240 for obc this year........
Cut off of cgl tier1+tier2 will be nearby 260 for non interview post and it may be 315-320 for interview post

I'm firm the cut-offs aren going to fall in tier-II as compared to last year how difficult the Maths paper has been. In tier-I too same type of situation was; did the cut-offs fall? Now look at the following comparison:
Number of Candidates Qualified for All Posts & Cut-off for 2011 is 14,200.
SC...................ST.................OBC....... ..... UR
6913 33 700 18,876
Cut-offs 63.50 63.25 70.25 86.75
2012 18,960 8,816 43,257 30148
Cut-offs 64.00 62.00 70.00 82.00
If the above is studied well we'll find the cut-offs in every category actually rose by a substantially big number; in UR also. In UR there is fall of merely 3.25 despite a huge huge increase in the number of candidates (Above 11,00).
No denying that the candidates wont be scoring that much high due to paper on Maths; but there would be a big GUCHCHHA (bunch) above last year's cut-offs as it happened in the tier-I result.
In Tier - 1 10000 candidates crossed 100 marks...
In Tier - 2 one can expect 100 as average mark in Maths and 130 - 135 is average mark in English.... hence 230 - 235 is average score in Tier - 2...
Hence 3500 students are expected to get 330 - 335 and that is interview cutoff for general....
If any one have doubt regarding this.. check last year's rank lists of candidates in Tier - 1, Tier - 2, Maths in Tier - 2 and English in Tier - 2 and apply above formula....
However we can expect many students to fall between 210 - 230 in Tier - 2, hence non interview cutoff may be around 310 - 315........
Dear..
Predicting a cut off before the exam is not at all possible because it usually depends upon various factors. Nobody can predict any of the factor exactly. Yes but we do assume our own figure because there is no harm in it and it can provide us a rough figure. According to me this year the maths paper was tough but English was easy so it will nullify the effect or we can expect a short fall of 5-10 marks.
Second factor is that this year vacancy's are more so because of this the cut off will again see a fall of 15-20 marks
So overall the cut off will go down to 25-30 marks
Wish you all the best for the result
Cheers...!!!
dear aspirnts----
This year no. Of vacancies are more as predicted and also the asprnts also more thn previous year..bt this time maths stndard is very high so we can aspect the cutoff would be low as compared to previous year..
I think for OBC it would be 305-315(intrvw) and 260-70(non-intrvw)..
Thnx
