Friend,It is not mentioned anywhere in the advertisement notification that all sections are mandatory to attempt. But it is advisable to attempt all sections to be safe in the event of sectional cut off. Friend, cut off cannot be predicted before the exam because the cut off depends upon nature of question paper, number of vacancies available, performance of candidates in the exam.I am going to suggest some helpful books for exam such as Arihant's General Knowledge, Lucent's General Knowledge, Magazine Competition Success Review, Magazine Pratiyogita Darpan etc.Important dates of examination are:1. Date of notification: 14.07.20122. Last Date for application: 10.08.20123. Date of Examination: 21.10.2012 & 28.10.2012Wish your bright future
Dear Aspirant,
It is not compulsory to attempt all the four sections for passing the exam. But you should prepare for all the sections as for a good ranking it will necessary to score higher marks.. If you are not sure about any question leave that as there is negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.. So I will suggest you to get prepared for all the sections...
For G.K. you should refer Lucent, Pratiyogita darpran on regular basis and read daily news paper, this will help you to increase your knowledge..
Regarding cut off no one can tell you anything. It depends on the question paper, no. of vacancies and no. of applications so better you prepare for yourself rather that worrying about these facts..
ALL THE BEST..
ALL THE BEST..

Dear Aspiring Candidate,
No all sections are not mandatory in the examination. But your aim should be to score highest in the examination because every year around 5 lakh
aspiring students appear for SSC examination and hardly around 4000 to 6000 gets selected depending upon the position and vacancy.
You can see the cut-off list very very narrow, so you have to score higher in order to get short listed for the selection.
Study Hard and with dedication. If you give your 100% in this examination than you will definitely get selected.
For general awareness book refer to R.S.Agarwal's books.
look out for latest edition of General Awareness Book.
Hello,
No, all sections are not mandatory in SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination.
Only the aggregate score matters.
But to score high marks every section should be given equal importance.
So prepare well for all the sections and make sure you are through to the next stage.
Best Wishes..,

dear friend
no all section is nt mandatory in ssc ldc & deo examinations. The merit list of ssc comes on total basis.
But scoring good marks in ssc examination you have to give equal importance in all sections.
If you score good marks in all section then automatically you will score good total marks.
All the best.............
